Lesson #9

Lesson #9: Edge burn. This one darkens the edges of the photo and lightens the middle to help draw your eye to the center of the photo. I did this one very subtle and with this photo I can barely tell the difference. The top photo is the original and the bottom has the edge burn. I may have to find a better photo, more of a portrait or at least not so spread out.

Lesson #8

Don't get nervous & think I forgot Lesson #7, this was actually just a review lesson going over all the previous lessons.
Lesson #8: Text. This one is actually done by typing, resizing, changing the color and font. It has alot of possiblities. Mine was very boring because I couldn't really find a photo that was set to the side enough to leave room for type. I tend to focus in closely on my subjects. I am going to try to leave a little more space to add something if I want and self crop later, then I have both options. I cropped this picture to a 5x7 added a new texture (which you can't see very well "subtle" folded paper) then added a frame.

Lesson #6

Lesson #6: TTV

This lesson is about using a type of "frame" that is like looking thru an old camera lense. The TTV already has a texture with it and is usually in a square shape like the old camera's would use. There are many different textures available along with many different frame styles. The top picture is straight out of the camera and the bottom picture is my lesson.

Lesson #5

Lesson #5: Textures. The bottom photo is the original. With the textures I added three different textural objects over my photo and changed the lighting on each to be able to see the photo underneath. This gave it a very old vintage feel. There is also a black frame around the photo too. The teacher of the class likes this look for landscape and photo's of people not looking at the camera. Don't really want a portrait looking like they have lizard skin. This photo was from Halloween and I love it. I wish the car was not in the background but what can you do.

Lesson #4

Lesson #4 this lesson is about clipping masks. It looks alot like putting a frame around a photo but it is done differently. You actually place the photo ontop of the mask and then merge them together. Doing this makes the picture take on whatever shape the mask is, kind of like a stencil. You can't really see this one well because the mask is white. Oh well it still is cute.

Lesson #3

Lesson #3: This one is on tinting your photos with a vintage feel. I uploaded the original photo first but for some reason when I uploaded the tinted photo it went on top. Oh well. You can see the difference in colors. It really deepened the color of Miss T's shirt, and really looks like an older photo. I have never done tinting this way before. It really was easy.

Lesson #2

Lesson #2: Using brushes. Can be used as a paintbrush or the more fun way as a stamp. I resized both of these. The first one is the frame I changed the color and size. The second one is the word "celebrate" and just changed the color. Super easy. Both colors were changed to match a background color from the carnival.

Lesson #1

This is little bit. Big red took some Gangsta photos of him and his cousin. I thougt it was so funny. This little guy is doing so good. His vocabulary is getting HUGE! What a difference a year can make. He is chatting all the time and trying to put 5-6 words together in a sentence. Not bad considering he started out with three words. Love this little guy.

I am taking a new digital class I found and trying to learn some new things.
Lesson #1: Framing a picture, adding word art, along with resizing pictures, and resizing for the web. This is the web version. Haven't done it this way before and I really don't know what the difference is. I always just uploaded the "full" version. I am excited to start doing this again. It has been way too long.
I am also resharpening some skills so I can help out an "especial lady" (you know who you are!)
