Taxes

So this is Miss T's first time having to pay taxes. Of course as her mother I figured it would be good for her to fill it out herself. Well the procrastinator that I am ;) We started filling it out last night. I forgot to pick up the State forms :O! So now I get to roam around and find some.
Hopefully she will be home in time to sign and mail them (she's not on spring break) before they are late. So much for teaching her responsibility.
Interesting tidbit, she made exactly $2626.26.

My Angel

Thank heaven for good friends. I've been a scrooge this year and haven't really done anything for Christmas. We finally put up the tree yesterday :( So I was baking away tonight and not celebrating anything when one of my BFF's called and asked what I was up too. She decided to share her holiday spirit with us. She got a great deal (my favorite) on gingerbread houses, shared them with us, and even used up her remaining energy to involve the kids in her merriment! I stood around and took pictures and she jumped right in and helped them play. Of course the kids all had a sugar high and the littles started kung fu fighting in the living room. She deals with controlled chaos way better than I do. I worry too much about keeping it clean, not eating the candy, and she just smiles. She is a great mom and inspiration to me all the time. She has a crazy life but still makes time to do things for others. I really want to be like her when I grow up. Thanks so much Mitch your awesome and I love you!

Home again

Adam is home safe and sound. He smiled a lot when we talked about being home. He was so ready to see his family and friends. He is all grown up now. I was 18 when he was born and he has almost been like my son instead of my brother. Him and Miss T are only three years apart.
I remember holding him hours after he was born. He has held a special place in my heart since his birth. I am so glad I decided to go to Oklahoma and pick him up. I think he was almost as excited to see me. He will be home for a few short weeks and then off again for his AIT. He actually seems a little excited to be going again. I realized this week, our time of raising him is over. He is now a man and WILL make his own decisions no matter what we may say or think.
We made it home safe and sound. The weather cooperated and the roads were good. We didn't even get in an accident this time WAHOO! Ironically our lawyer called while we were in Oklahoma to finalize the settling of our lawsuit, finally. Hopefully it will be over soon.
My honey missed me a lot and is very glad to have me home. He did a great job with the kids and every one made it to school and lived thru the week. Tay decided he missed his mommy and had to have some snuggle time Saturday morning. My kids are getting older and the frequency of affection is slowing down, but it's good to know they do miss me sometimes.

What a week

So I am "supposed" to be writing here on a more regular basis, right? I feel great that I actually wrote for three days in a row. I then use the excuse that it is the weekend and I really don't have time... then Sunday night happens and that's the end folks! I have not been that sick in years! Monday morning I am still down for the count and luckily my hubby is willing to stay home and take care of the littles so I could enjoy the bathroom more than usual. I then was able to take a four hour nap.
Unfortunately I am not the only recipient of said "sickness". Miss T was also inflicted but not so much on Monday, she was well enough to help with the littles :) She slept most of the day Tuesday. Of course she missed school for two days which technically could translate to four with the homework makeup she has to do now. I called and excused her both days, and still ended up having to email one teacher on Wednesday to excuse her, so she could make up what she missed. I really was under the impression if you call the office and excuse them that should do, but I guess not.
Wednesday I went to work for a while, which was actually nice to get away for a bit. Of course I have a large to do list for them. Still, working this much just before Christmas, is a good thing. At least it will be helpful considering the increase in kiddo's.
Today unfortunately is the day of poo! I have had to clean up many an accident that I really did not want to deal with. Of the littles, little bit is the only one that I haven't had to wash his clothes today after said poo. I think i want to quit! Potty training take me away!
The happy part of the day is that I finally thought to get tickets to Twilight and go with Miss T. I hadn't even thought of going on the premier night before today and luckily was able to get tickets. Miss T is really excited, she will get to see it before a lot of her friends. Of course tomorrow will be looooong. The littles wake up early no matter what.
Sorry for the randomness but this week has been extremely random. Hope you all have had a better week than me. Now if we can just keep the littles from getting sick, I will consider the week a success.

In the beginning...

So here is to the start of my newest journey. I really have the best intentions of keeping up on the "journal" of blogging. I doubt I have physically written in my journal since 2003. I don't mind emailing so much, maybe typing will be the key. I already have a lot on my plate but we are "supposed" to do this right!?!
I am currently "in the beginning" of:
  • having an "adult" child, with a new license :P
  • working part time outside of the home
  • researching another aspect of my job I have never had to do before
  • being the mom of SIX! starting fresh with three "new" kids, five & under
  • reconfiguring my life to accommodate said increase of kids
  • figuring out this blog and how to do things on it
  • facebook
  • and other various things that I don't remember right now, but I'm sure are there :)
After looking at the list I hope to come to the end of a few of these soon, or at least get to the middle really quick, where everything starts to level off instead of climb.
