My Beautiful Daughter

My baby went to Prom! When did I get old enough for that. To be honest she went in April, so I have been old enough for a while.

We had fun picking out the dress. She had actually fell in love with this dress last year when she was shopping with her friend. I made her try on some other dresses so I felt part of the process, but she really has great taste and she picked out this one. Then it just came down to the color, Red or Ice Blue? A week before she was asked she colored her hair red so that pretty much made the choice. She is beautiful.

My rules for Prom were that she HAD to get ready at our house and that she WOULD be picked up at home. Too many times she is the designated driver and that wasn't happening either. This way I was able to do her hair and makeup. We took lots of pictures and had a fun time. I am glad we were able to have a bonding moment, these definately start to slip away as they get older.

Taxes

So this is Miss T's first time having to pay taxes. Of course as her mother I figured it would be good for her to fill it out herself. Well the procrastinator that I am ;) We started filling it out last night. I forgot to pick up the State forms :O! So now I get to roam around and find some.
Hopefully she will be home in time to sign and mail them (she's not on spring break) before they are late. So much for teaching her responsibility.
Interesting tidbit, she made exactly $2626.26.
I am better, (pretty much).
Thank you friends for all of your advice and help.
I love you all.

Randomness

Pheeeew! Made it through all the testing at the hospital and things look good. Supposedly he is not having seizures! If he has another episode we may have to do an overnight EEG. He really did good on Tuesday though. He was tired but listened well. It was hard to see him sedated though, being that out of it and floppy. After he woke up he was totally high (which was hilarious) for the rest of the night. Wednesday he was HORRID, I think it may have been a hangover. Anything that was against the rules he did and pushed every button he could to make me mad. Thursday he was much better and back to normal. So as of now we are relieved and happy. One less thing to have to worry about, we still have autism and sensory issues to figure out.

Day light savings time today and church was early! I am exhausted even though I took a nap :) Hopefully both little boys will sleep through the night and not wake up early (like this morning). Little princess is sleeping over at my sisters for the weekend. So no waking up to a serenade. She loves to sing and breaks into song no matter what time it is. I have to work tomorrow and will be dropping off all the littles at Cess' house.

Thanks to a great recipe from a friend, I made Pork Barbacoa tonight - YUMMY! It is so good. My family loves it and we have made it multiple times now. It is the recipe from Cafe Rio, along with the rice and the tomatillo dressing. It is very easy and sooooo good.

These are the ramblings of my Sunday. Not much going on and pretty boring today. The week will pick up and probably get out of control by the end, but it is my life.

Sweet Boy

This sweet little four year old is the cause of pleasure and pain. He is soooooo curious and wants to see how everything works. He loves to help and will make a mess to help clean it up (luckily this shows up mostly at preschool). Cooking is something he ALWAYS wants to be involved with, much to my dismay. He will yell and cry when it is time to change directions and do something else, and once he starts on the new project is very content to keep doing it. He loves to have books read to him and will sit for a long time being held and go thru book after book. All of a sudden he will decide he wants to give you a kiss or a hug, and melts into a puddle if you start stroking his hand.
Unfortunately we are in the process of figuring out if he has autism, some sensory issues and if he is having seizures. Grandma C spent the day with us at Primary Children's hospital meeting with the neurologist, and having blood and urine tests (looking for possible genetic issues). In two weeks we go back for an EEG and an MRI. Tomorrow we head to Provo for the ADOS test to check for autism. Next week is the sensory testing.
He will be five in two months and acts more like he is three, and is still not potty trained (possible sensory issues). He doesn't really want to talk to people even though he can. He chooses to play alone most of the time. All the testing sounds daunting but if we can figure out the best course of action for him it will be worth it.

My Angel

Thank heaven for good friends. I've been a scrooge this year and haven't really done anything for Christmas. We finally put up the tree yesterday :( So I was baking away tonight and not celebrating anything when one of my BFF's called and asked what I was up too. She decided to share her holiday spirit with us. She got a great deal (my favorite) on gingerbread houses, shared them with us, and even used up her remaining energy to involve the kids in her merriment! I stood around and took pictures and she jumped right in and helped them play. Of course the kids all had a sugar high and the littles started kung fu fighting in the living room. She deals with controlled chaos way better than I do. I worry too much about keeping it clean, not eating the candy, and she just smiles. She is a great mom and inspiration to me all the time. She has a crazy life but still makes time to do things for others. I really want to be like her when I grow up. Thanks so much Mitch your awesome and I love you!
